SUBHADRA MAHTAB SEVA SADANRehabilitation of Children in Distress

What we are

It was the idea of Sri Niranjan Mohanty, the founder secretary of SMSS, that a proper shelter should be built for the care and upbringing of the deprived children of Kandhamal inhabited by tribes. Therefore his initial tireless efforts were concentrated on building up an orphanage for these children.

In the vicinity of the orphanage are supporting institutions like shelter home for destitute women, school for girls, tailoring training center and crèche for pre-school children.

SMSS came into existence in 1980. With experience of over 27 years since 1980, in organizing programmes for child welfare, women’s development, geriatric care, provision for medical care and health education. SMSS proposes to adopt the necessary paradigm shift to respond to emerging needs.

SMSS ENVISAGES A SOCIETY WHERE EACH INDIVIDUAL LIVES IN DIGNITY, SUPPORTED BY A CARING SOCIETY AND UNEXPLOITED BY VESTED INTERESTS
