Textile & Handicraft Programme

The SMSS has taken efforts to tap the creativity of the inmates in the handicraft programmes, which is aimed at providing rehabilitation to the adult orphan children. A textile designing and handicraft scheme is being operated in the Sisu Greh complex in Bhubaneswar by SMSS. The orphan children are being trained on block printing, designing, screen printing, tie and dye processing of clothes and bandhini. They are also being trained in embroidery, tailoring, making and stitching dress and bags. After successful training, the children can be able to find jobs in their respective trades outside. They can also be self-employed and be able to eke out a living. However, the trainees after completion of the training are provided ‘Artisans Certificate’ by the Govt. This programme is sponsored by Amigos De Odisha, Zaragoza, Spain.
