SUBHADRA MAHTAB SEVA SADANRehabilitation of Children in Distress

Orphanage

Welfare of the children is the basic programme of SMSS. With a view to providing shelter, protection, education and above all rehabilitation to the orphan and abandoned children, the organization has started this programme since its inception and has accommodated over 400 children in its own orphanage at G. Udayagiri.

The tribal and parentless children or single parent children have taken shelter in the orphanage. They are being accorded various facilities for their upbringing and growth both in mental and physical spheres. Caretakers, fulltime doctor, trained nurse, helpers and educational, vocational and computer teachers have been engaged to look into the all round development of children beginning from five years of the age. However, SMSS has made great strides in rehabilitating the orphan inmates in government, public and private sectors. The state government has extended grant-in-aid to the orphanage through its W& CD department.
